USAOK National Team Coaching Staff Policies  

 

1.                  The Board of Directors of USAOK will appoint Head Coaches.

 

2.                  If you wish to be considered for staff membership you must complete the following:

 

A.     Have current Bronze Level Certification.

B.     Current USA Coaches Card (must have completed background check).

C.     Clubs or Schools who have more than 6 wrestlers on National Teams will have first consideration.  Second coaches from same Clubs or Schools will only be considered if they 12 or more wrestlers on the national teams.

D.     Submit a resume by May 1st of Current Year to

3.                  Staff will finalize June 1st.  Director of Coaches will submit coaches to be approved by USAOK Board of Directors. You must be on staff to receive a floor pass at all National Tournaments.

4.                  Staff members will receive the following:  Floor passes, rooms, meals, transportation, and equipment.  All coaches will depart and arrive with assigned teams and staffs and must attend all training camps.

MAT OFFICIALS PAYMENT POLICY

 

1.     All Mat Officials must be registered with USWOA and OIWOA to receive payment at tournaments.

 

2.     Only registered officials will be used at USAOK tournaments.

 

3.     Tournament Directors have the option to hire OIWOA Pairers.  Payment to these individuals will only be done if Tournament Directors request for Pairers.

 

4.     Tournament Directors will contact OIWOA President to contract officials. OIWOA hiring official will contact tournament director with list of officials for approval.  Only 9 officials will be hired per tournament.

5.     Tournament Director will pay assigned Officials at end of the Tournament. 

 

      Tournament payment scale:                 $3.50 per Freestyle Entry

                                                                            $4.00 per Freestyle Entry after 5:00 pm

      Official’s payment scale:

 

                              OIWOA                         $100.00

                              OIWOA Officials           Remaining fee’s will be divided by 9 and distributed to 9 officials in equally .

                              Wrestler Officials          $50.00 to be credited toward National Tournament at Fargo. 

1.     Athlete must compete in one style at tournament.

2.     Must be a member of USWOA and OIWOA.

3.     If athlete does not attend National Tournament at Fargo he will not receives any funds.

4.     If athlete does not enter tournament and officiates he will not receive any funds.

5.     If athlete is one of the hired officials he will not be paid but will be issue a full share for his credit to National Tournament at Fargo.

A.     USAW National Tournament Fargo

1.     Transportation on National Team Bus (Official use of other forms of travel will be at own expense).

USAOK GRECO/FREESTYLE HOST TOURNAMENT GUIDELINES

 

1.         All clubs hosting a state tournament must follow the minimum guidelines established by USA Oklahoma Amateur Wrestling Inc.

2.         Clubs hosting tournaments must be charter members of USAOK.  All club charter and sanctions must be paid at first scheduling meeting. 

3.         All participants must have current USA competitor’s card.  All tournament wrestlers must have red and blue singlet.  

4.         All coaches must have a current USA coaches’ card and minimum of copper certification to coach at an USAOK event. 

5.         Entry fee will be $20.00 per Freestyle entry and $5.00 per Greco entry for all tournaments.  USAOK wrestling will be paid $5.00 per entry for each freestyle qualifying tournament to offset the National Team cost.

6.         Gate charges will be $4.00 for adults 18 and over.

7.         Tournaments will offer all age divisions, and will wrestle freestyle first.

8.             Tournament timeline:     

a.     Registration:  7:00 am                    

b.    Weigh-In:  7:30 am until conclusion (athletes must be in line at 7:30)

c.     Rules Clinic: 9:00-9:15

d.    Director’s time:  Director’s time to speak to the athletes will be 9:15

e.     Starting Times:  All Divisions 9:30 am        

9.             Match times:  All matches for all age divisions will be three two-minute periods.

10.        All tournaments will use straight line bracketing with exception of FILA tournaments.

            a. Weights with four or fewer wrestlers will be conducted on one mat.

            b. All tournaments are seeded by draw number; same club members will be separated.         

            c. Qualifying Tournaments

                        1.    Separation will be done USAOK Division Directors.

2.     Weights may not be combined.

3.     No out of state USA cards will be accepted.

11.        Host club will have a minimum of 6 mats.

12.        All officials must be registered with National and Local Associations.  They must have current license and have attended the OIWOA official’s clinic.

13.        Host clubs must supply one adult mat official per season.  This mat official must officiate in a minimum of three tournaments per season, including the event of the club they represent.  This mat official must attend a mandatory OIWOA officials’ education clinic in March. 

14.        Host club must furnish security and medical personnel.  

15.        All results will be posted to oklahomahighschoolwrestling.com no later than 48 hours after

             completion of competition.                                                                                                                                                                                                                          

16.        All tournaments must have an experienced adult announcer.

17.        All tournament hosts will purchase a full page add in Oklahoma High School State Wrestling Program. 

18.        Officials will be reimbursed at rate of $3.50 per freestyle entry.  This rate will increase to $4.00 per freestyle at 5:00 PM.

1.     All Kids, Cadet, and Junior National Dual Team Member must participate in the following to be participate at the Dual National Tournaments:

 

A.    Attend Dual Team Evaluation Tournament.

B.    Attend all Training Camps.

C.    Attend Regional Training sites of your choice (non attendance will result in dismissal from team).

3.     The following criteria must be met to attend Dual Team Tryout Tournament.

 

A.    Must attend an Oklahoma National Team Qualifier Tournament.

B.    All Deposit, Fees for Dual Team Competition and Nationals at Fargo must be in full by Team Evaluation Camps.

C.    Cost to enter National Dual Team Tryout Tournaments is $125.00 Cadets/Juniors (deposit will be added to balance of cost to attend tournament).  Schoolboys must be paid in full.

D.    Exception Graduating Senior-Any Senior Oklahoma State Champion may attend Dual Team Tryout Tournament. 

E.    5 pound weight allowance for Cadet/Junior divisions.  School boys/girls no weight allowance.

F.    Champion of weight -Team 1.  Runner-up-Team 2.  3rd Place finisher Greco Team.  If there is not a number 3 finisher number 2 wrestler will wrestle Greco.  Team 1 wrestlers will not be allowed to wrestle Greco. Any member of team 2 may request to participate on Greco Team.  Any wrestler refusing to participate on assigned team will be dropped.

 

4.     National Dual Team Coaching Staff will make team selection.  Criteria for selection will be the following:

 

A.    Evaluation Matches

B.    Returning USA All-Americans

C.   Past performance at Dual and National Tournament.

D.   Attendance at USAOK Tournaments.

F.    Placement at USAOK qualifying tournaments.

1.                   A deposit of $350.00 must be paid within 10 days of qualifying tournament.

4.       If a participant has qualified in both styles (Greco-Freestyle) does not plan on competing at nationals in both he/she must

         declare his/her intentions at the qualifier.  A $100.00 drop fee will be added to balance to any participant who drops

        after day of qualifier.

5.                   All deposits are non-refundable.  Only exception if wrestler is injured at camp he/she will receive a refund for the following items: Fargo room cost, Fargo meal money, and entry fees.

6.                   Participants who are sent home because of disciplinary reasons will not receive a refund.  Disciplinary actions will include not making weight, disrespectful behavior to USAOK staff, poor work out habits, violation of camp or tournament rules, or any additional rules discussed at team meetings.

7.                   All cost incurred from disciplinary action will be the responsibility of participant’s parents or guardian. (Example transportation cost to send participant home, all damages etc.)

8.                   Participants must attend national team training camp.  If he/she fails to report to camp he/she will not be allowed to participate at the national tournament.  No exceptions to this rule.

9.                   Fees will cover all expenses (equipment, meals, room, transportation, camp costs, entry fees, and coaching expenses) to compete at USA National Tournament in Fargo, ND.  Estimated Fee-1 Style or 2 Styles $1000.00
